About the Artist
Layal Annan is a Canadian visual artist creating contemporary acrylic paintings rooted in architecture, inspired by jewellery and design, and shaped by imagined spaces.
A Bit About Me
I am a visual artist guided by imagination, design, and a lifelong connection to creativity. I grew up in the Mediterranean in a family of artists, where art was part of everyday life and imagination was encouraged from an early age.
My practice began with drawing and painting and evolved through formal art training under the mentorship of accomplished painters and illustrators. Alongside fine art, my background in design and visual communication allows my work to move fluidly between disciplines while remaining rooted in personal expression and contemporary painting.

My work has been exhibited in numerous art shows and featured in publications such as Elite Wine, Food and Travel and Canadian House and Home. My paintings are held in private collections throughout Canada and Europe, as well as in commissioned corporate and residential spaces. I am drawn to bold colour, thoughtful composition, and a sense of quiet movement within form.

Alongside my studio practice, I share my love of painting through teaching. My art workshops offer a relaxed, welcoming environment where students of all levels are encouraged to explore a range of subjects and techniques with curiosity, confidence, and enjoyment.
